Arthur Miller at the corner

A February 1975 notice put Arthur Miller’s “All My Sons” on stage at the Harvard and 11th corner, at what the Chronicle called “the only ecumenical theater in town.” In the neighborhood’s quietest decade, somebody at this corner was staging serious American drama.

The same summer, the DeMolay boys sold benefit dinners “in Reagan Temple” at $2.50 a plate, $1.50 for children. The building’s two oldest traditions, the stage and the youth orders, were both still alive.
