A bank branch in the commercial row
1984
By December 1984 a retail bank branch was operating in the building’s commercial row, advertising for an experienced teller: “apply in person.” The shop row that had held pharmacies, cleaners, a post office substation, and a Hall of Famer’s insurance company now added banking to the list. Few hundred-foot storefront strips anywhere have hosted a broader run of Houston commerce.
