Building the Temple · 1930

An all-day degree marathon

Feb 1930

Weeks before the new temple was announced, the old hall was running at full capacity. A February 1930 notice advertised degree work beginning at 9 a.m. and running until about 10 p.m., with candidates reporting in three shifts and dinner served at noon. A. A. Stone was Worshipful Master; James F. Helms, secretary.

The membership had outgrown the frame hall completely. The building program that followed was less an ambition than a necessity.
