The lodge loses James F. Helms
1932
James Frank Helms, charter member, early Worshipful Master, and the lodge’s secretary for roughly fourteen years, died in September 1932. His funeral was held in the temple’s own auditorium, front-page news in the Chronicle.
Helms had also served thirteen years as president of the Heights school board during the town’s independence. Helms School on Eighteenth Street carries his name to this day.
