The historic district arrives

In December 2007 the City of Houston designated the Houston Heights West Historic District, the first of three Heights districts that formally recognized what residents had long known about the neighborhood’s character. The district surrounds this corner.

The building itself, younger than the district’s formal period of significance, stands on its own documentation instead, which this project exists to supply. Few structures in the district carry a fuller written record.
