Texas Defense Guard, Max Autrey Post 52

November 1940

The Chronicle of November 10, 1940 announced that Max Autrey Post 52 of the Texas Defense Guard would drill at “Harvard and Eleventh (111th Engineers’ Armory).” The page shown here is the Chronicle of December 5, 1940, with the 36th Division commander inspecting Company F, 111th Engineers, at “their armory, Eleventh and Harvard.” The building behind the tents is a light two-story block, not the temple; which structure at the corner served as the armory is unproven.
