A lodge column from February 1953

Feb 1953

The Post’s lodge column of Friday, February 20, 1953 shows how far Reagan Lodge had moved from the corner. Its notice gives the lodge’s own hall, “Heights Blvd. and 16th Streets,” as the meeting place for a school of instruction that night, signed by W. H. Lynn, W.M., and J. A. Newsome, Secretary.

Earlier versions of this entry said that five Masonic bodies, DeMolay boys included, met at the old temple that week. This column does not show that: no other Reagan body appears in it. Until the listing behind the claim is found, the 1953 week is unconfirmed. Firmer evidence that the old lodge room stayed in Masonic use comes from dated notices of 1953 to 1963 (Chapter 4).
