Rental advertisements for “Harvard House Apts.” ran in January 1981, the first appearances of the name the building carries today. That September a teaser ad caught the conversion’s pitch in a single line: “TOTALLY MODERN LIVING” in a “52 YEAR OLD” structure.

The name arrived four years before the condominium declaration made it official, a detail the research recovered from the classified pages.
