Peak membership, and the Rainbow Girls take the stage

1931

Grand Lodge returns for 1931 recorded 894 members, the lodge’s all-time peak. In May the Heights Rainbow Girls held their first public installation in the new temple, twenty named teenagers taking the stage before their families.

The Garden Club’s spring flower show moved into the building’s exhibition hall the same season. The temple had opened as exactly what its floor plan promised: a civic machine for the whole neighborhood.

The source

Newspaper photo feature headed Officers of Rainbow for Girls: six head-and-shoulders portraits of young women in a row above a cutline naming them.
“Officers of Rainbow for Girls”: six officers of the Heights assembly, No. 10, to be installed at Reagan Masonic hall. The clipping carries no paper or date; it was earlier cited as the Chronicle of Jan. 7, 1934, which its list of officers makes doubtful.
